Enriched Care

About Dementia Care

Dementia, also known as Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI), is an umbrella term for the neurodegenerative disease and has a range of stages. It currently impacts on the lives of more than 850,000 people in the UK (Alzheimer’s Society UK).

When you or someone close to you is diagnosed with dementia, we understand it can be a very worrying time. With various different forms of dementia affecting those in later life, you need to trust the experts to ensure you find the specialist care you really need.

“Our mission is to help our residents retain a valuable and high quality of life, without compromising their individuality or independence.”

Enriched Care

What Is It?

Enriched care aims to improve and enhance the quality of an individual’s life. Our staff deliver this through person centred care.

Our model of enriched care focuses on factors such as physical health, biography and personality, as well as taking into consideration clinical and social elements to provide the best possible care.

Person Centred

Person-centred care considers the individual as a whole and recognises that each person has unique qualities, abilities, interests, preferences and needs regardless of age or cognitive ability.

The persons life history, personality, life style and individual choices are all considered when providing person centred care.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy towards caring moves away from treating an individual as a collection of symptoms and behaviours to be controlled.

Person-centred care includes the perspective of the individual living with dementia as pivotal to all aspects of the care and support planning, enabling them to live a life with meaning and purpose.

Our Principles

Our principles are focused towards enabling individuals living with dementia to hold positive relationships with our care staff improving their well-being and level of comfort.

We focus on the four elements of person-centred care for enrichment; health, activity, communication and a rich environment, to enhance the delivery of care.

Our Values

Just some of the key values we uphold for each individual in our care through our person-centred approach.

Ensuring the value of a person and the people who care for them by offering our greatest support.

Recognising an individual’s need to live in a rich social environment and enabling them to do so.

Appreciating an individual as a whole and carrying this through our person-centred care and planning.

Listening to and communicating with the individual in our care and view the world from their perspective.
