Our aim is to help those living with dementia continue to lead fulfilled and enriching lives, providing a safe and loving environment where they may find comfort in the care of health professionals.
Ensuring our residents are healthy is simply at the base of what we do and we understand that enrichment comes not only from positive relationships and a stimulating environment but from an active mind.
With these core values we are able to help our residents retain value and a high quality of life without compromise, while strengthening their individuality and independence in living with dementia.
Our Homes
Our home environments play a large part in the health and wellbeing of our residents. Communal areas are decorated with murals which help to facilitate the independence of those living with dementia. The designs used serve as memory triggers helping to remind residents of the location to their bedroom and communal areas.
It is proven that visual cues, sensory reminders and a little gentle guidance from our carers, helps to significantly reduce agitation and frustration when confusion and fear arises.
As well as ensuring our homes provide these crucial sensory cues, we take advantage of our enviable location, assisting residents who wish to walk down to the seafront and encouraging their friends and family to experience the beautiful views of the Welsh coastline with us.
Also located along a regular bus route, our homes are easily accessible and frequent visits from loved ones are always welcomed.
Staff Training
It takes a strong and dedicated team to achieve a continuously high level of care. Here at Meddyg Care, we have a close network of managers, nurses, caregivers, specialist staff and support who all work together to make sure the residents in our care here are always benefitting from a maximum sense of wellbeing.
Our staff are employed first and foremost because of their caring nature. They have, through the induction process and subsequent hands-on training, demonstrated that they are capable of delivering care to the high standards that we expect.
We also operate a buddy system for all new employees. This ensures that each member of our team receives the support they need to comfortably provide the unique care that each resident requires.
Upon employment, all new staff are given the opportunity to work towards their advanced care certificate. They are also actively encouraged to progress through the company and gain additional qualifications to help boost the level of care that they practice.
